I started with Peak Physique at the age of 62 in 2008…a gift from my daughter and son-in-law. This was 10 months after my hip replacement.

My trainer worked through all the “kinks” and helped me realize that my body was not as old as my mind was telling me it was. They did this with varied and interesting programs that were always fresh and innovative. Mic and Peak Physique treat the whole person. By listening to me and my body, I always got positive reinforcement, encouragement and a push to the next level with a combination of seriousness and humor.

Although I don’t have the picture perfect body, I now have increased strength and endurance which was put to the test with a diagnosis of breast cancer in 2009. The surgery outcome was very positive due in no small part to my workouts. My doctor was very impressed with the arm movements I was able to achieve immediately after surgery. Continuing workout sessions through chemotherapy was helpful not only physically, but emotionally in giving me a sense of control, “normalcy”, and well being. I would often tell myself, “I am not sick…I am healing.”

I could not ask for a more “perfect fit” with a trainer and give them a well deserved thumbs up!

My name is Sally. I am a 57 year old wife and mother of 5 sons. After my first three pregnancies, I was always able to lose the weight I had put on, but the last pregnancy was twins and for any number of reasons (or excuses) I kept the weight on and then some. I was so busy with taking care of my family that I didn’t take the time to fully take care of myself in regards to getting back in shape.

About 9 months ago I had a couple, as Oprah calls them, AH-HA moments. My twins were turning 21 and I saw that I was still lugging around 30 extra pounds.

My 2nd AH-HA moment was when I realized I truly was my mother’s daughter. She has struggled with her weight for most of her adult life. I know the weight she carries is both a hindrance to her lifestyle and her health. I simply did not want the same for me. I knew if I didn’t do something I could fall into the same trap.

So, one day, it just clicked for me. I finally put the diet with the exercise! I had been working with Peak Physique for quite some time, but decided to add a diet coach. I quickly learned that I had to make some serious changes in my food choices and in my head. This was going to become a lifestyle change . . . not just another diet.

During my weight loss journey, Mic kept me very motivated. She has a knack for keeping my workouts challenging and interesting by using different techniques and equipment. Every 4 weeks or so, she introduces something new to break up the monotony and keep my interest. She is able to modify workouts if something is hurting. Her knowledge and understanding of the human anatomy, muscle groups, and training techniques gives me confidence that I am getting the maximum benefit every workout.

It has been a little more than 9 months (a pregnancy, ironic, huh?) and I have lost 25 lbs. I knew if I stayed consistent and stuck with the exercise and diet, I would see results. Thanks to a supportive husband, a motivating diet coach, and a dedicated trainer, I am back to a much better place physically than I have been in years . . . and never plan on going back!

I began working with Peak Physique three years ago at my neighborhood Boot Camp. I am now more fit, have better posture, more flexibility and better balance than at any other period in my life.

They have given me the motivation to lose 20 pounds and keep it off. Their enthusiasm and knowledge of human physiology and nutrition help keep each of the Boot Camp clients enthused and successful. The program changes each month to keep us fresh and to give our muscles a new challenge. Mic works carefully with each client to insure little hurts don’t become big hurts. She also works with us on individual needs and planning strategies. If extra workouts are needed, she does not hesitate to suggest exercises to do at home between sessions. Peak Physique makes exercise fun, rewarding and is always there with cheerful words of encouragement.

I was born with a hole in my heart and it wasn’t discovered until I had complications at 60 years old. My trainer was able to modify and adapt my workouts according to how I was feeling that particular day. They worked closely with my doctors and physical therapists to keep me active and upright! Mic has a ‘gift’ of knowing when to push me to the next level and when to back off. She did this all the while, still not letting me take the easy road.

Her belief in me was evident when she asked me to get on a bicycle for the first time in 25 years! We rode for miles . . . laughing, talking and crying the whole time. She earned my respect that day, knowing she was right there by my side. Although, I have many physical limitations, Mic gave me the courage and determination to live life and do anything I want to.
